Biography

In 2001 my interest in photography started when I picked up a magazine in an office and saw an image of Owens Valley in California by Galen Rowell. My wife bought me a digital camera soon after that and I was unknowingly off on a new career.

My background in computers helped me to learn digital photography and the software that supports it. I took night classes, joined photographer's groups, made many field trips and read everything I could get my hands on about photography.

I love shooting in the mountains and forests with their clear rivers and falls, tall trees and their rugged landscapes. My favorite light to shoot in is at sunrise and sunset. A foggy morning or right after a storm add other dimensions to a shot.

I especially love the sea. You'll find me shooting in small coastal towns and fishing villages, harbors, docks and beaches. Anywhere the romance and hard work of the sea can be captured.

I'm looking forward to growing artistically and continuing this unexpected adventure. My work can be found on line, at the Arts & Things Gallery in Morehead City NC, at Earth & Sea in Beaufort, NC and at the Tidewater Gallery in Swansboro, NC.
